A restorative treatment, reflexology aims to bring a return to Harmony within.
When pressure is applied to points on the feet and hands (reflexes), a response is created which can cause positive changes within the body.
Varying degrees of pressure need to be used to enable a person, as well as individual reflexes to relax. I have trained in Light Touch reflexology with Chris Stormer (1995); this is a method that focuses on addressing the emotional level of the body, from which so many of our illnesses arise. I have incorporated these Light Touch techniques into my treatments.
I studied ‘Healing with the energy of the Chakra system’ with John Cross in 1997 and have also included his method of balancing the major chakras, in my treatments.
My background in Reflexology began with my Practitioner’s Diploma in 1992, followed by a Post Graduate course in 1995. I have an adult teaching qualification from the University of Canterbury and have given introductory courses in Adult Education Centres and taught specialised workshops in Reflexology Training schools.
Conditions that I have treated with a positive outcome include
anxiety
asthma (in children and adults)
depression
eczema
glue ear
hyperactivity
hypertension
infertility
migraine
PMT
sinus problems
stress
I am registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) for Reflexology.
